yes. unless you do a dual boot.

however there is no upgrade, to go from 32 to 64 or vice versa it requires a fresh install

Indeed! It did wipe the 32 and give me 64. Awesome.

Side note: it did import my settings from Chrome and FireFox at least. My documents, photos, etc, were on an external so no worries with fresh installs.
