This is wierd :confused:
I have often used Linux to fix a Windows problem but today I had to use Windows to fix a Linux problem.
A friend gave me a video CD that he had problems playing, was able to open and browse the file system but neither MoviePlayer or VLC would play it giving me an error message.
I tried to copy the video file to the HD but get 'Error splicing file: Input/output error'. Tried dd to copy file but again an error message.
In windows CD plays fine using VLC.
Copied video file in Windows to HD, booted in to Ubuntu and copied file from Windows folder to Linux folder and now it works fine.
I am baffled, any ideas ](*,)
