View Full Version : [ubuntu] Drag-and-drop across workspace in 11.04 works only erratically and occasionally

I have installed Natty 11.04, and despite others' comments, I am enjoying the Unity interface. I have had a few minor difficulties with Compiz, which proved to be fixable with simple changes to the settings.

However, I have one problem remaining, something I tend to use a lot: drag an icon from one workspace (desktop) to another. For example, drag a file from Nautilus on one workspace to Libre Office on another.

I have gone to CompizConfig Settings Manager > Desktop > Desktop Wall > Edge Flipping, and turned on both Edge Flip Move (which works correctly) and Edge Flip DnD.

What I get when I drag the icon to the edge of the screen:

Usually, nothing happens.
Sometimes, the mini-expo flashes in the middle of the screen.
Very occasionally, it works and goes to the new workspace.

This highly erratic response frustrates me, and I'd rather have it work every time.

Do you know how I can fix it?

I'm searching about this problem too, and got some imformation yesterday..
You may found solution on #6 on the link below..

That fixed most problems, but something wrong after rebooting.
I'm now searching for dealing with that.

Thanks. I've added my vote and a comment.
