Hi everyone, here's a newbie question for you.

So last week I was curious and installed xubuntu-desktop on my ubuntu 11.04 system. Since I wasn't really using it, I decided to uninstall it with the "sudo apt-get purge xubuntu-desktop". I noticed that the xubuntu login page was still showing up after this, so I proceeded to remove any packages related to xfce or xubuntu in the synaptic package manager.

The problem is that since then, the notification messages ubuntu displays are rendered with an ugly orange border around them instead of the sleek black color they were before. It's hard to describe, but the attached png image shows what I mean.

Could I have inadvertently uninstalled a unity package? Nothing else seems amiss and it's really a small issue, but it's a bothersome little blemish to my otherwise pretty ubuntu desktop environment.

Thanks

Thanks Krytarik! The remove Xubuntu commands worked like a charm.
