hey guys,

I have been playing around with compiz in the pre-release of 11.10. I am trying to cycle wallpapers on my desktop with both the desktop cube and wallpaper plugins enabled in Compiz.

I've disabled nautilus's apps->preferences->show_desktop option via the gconf-editor but that didn't seem to fix anything.

Here are screenshots of my situation:

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions as to go about resolving it?

I just upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 and have the same problem, my multiple wallpapers are gone. Something must have overridden it, the unity plugin itself??

Solution appreciated!

Hello,
exactly the same problem here.
Weird thing is: at some point, my original wallpapers were back again (all preferences are the same as they were under 11.04), but then it switched to the new backgrounds again. Without reboots, not to forget.
I've searched through the compiz-config entries, but did not find any solution yet; nautilus is also configured not to paint the walls here.

I hope somebody finds out what to do here!

I use the Wallch wallpaper changer (http://www.liberiangeek.net/2011/09/automatically-change-wallpaper-with-wallch-in-ubuntu-11-0411-10/) instead of the compiz wallpaper plugin. It's quite customizable, and you won't need to loose all your desktop icons ;).
