Ubuntu install fail

I put ubuntu 11.04 /iso onto a dvd and tryed to install as a duel boot with windows 7. The install will not work. The windows that do you show up to begin instalation blink and lagg

can you run it in liveCD mode? press "try it" and start the OS?

you might need aditional parameters on boot or use alternate install. it could be that you need graphics drivers. Alternate install doe sit all in text mode. while some boot parameters can force graphics into basic mode (like safe mode in windows).

Please post the full specifications for the computer especially RAM and graphics card.

Also check in the Windows Disk Management utility and report back with how many primary partitions are there.
