I have searched the ends of the internet to compile every default Ubuntu Wallpaper (in widescreen and in 4:3) and almost every Fedora Wallpaper into a conveniently downloadable file.
It is available on my website here (http://www.tux-crazy.com/2011/10/updated-ubuntu-and-fedora-wallpaper.html).
My website is a place where I try to write good, useful technology articles, so please feel free to check it out and tell me what you think.
Hope you enjoy the wallpapers :)

Fedora consistently wins, by the all-important metric of default wallpaper.

Yup Fedora is renown for having the most stable wallpaper out there...
;)
OT: This is pretty cool... would be cool to get a collection of this for all the major players...

I have tons of linux wallpaper. What's the file size limit for an attachment here?

Having played around with a few distros (mostly on LiveUSB), and I've seen a few nice default wallpapers. Fedora 15 has a pretty nice one, both the GNOME 3 and KDE versions. Mandriva 2010.2 also had a nice default wallpaper, whether you ran Mandriva One or Mandriva Free. Too bad Mandriva 2011's default wallpaper pales in comparison. Linux Mint 11 and Linux Mint DE both have nice a default wallpaper too.
I like these wallpapers... downloading them now :)

Size limit is too small :)
Best would be to upload to a blog or image upload site and share the links :)

I recommend using Dropbox to share the file publicly.

That's a cool idea for the next collection :)

The Fedora DNA wallpaper has to be one of the best wallpapers ever made, which was way back in Fedora Core 5 or 6. It is a shame that their art direction from that has gone down hill.
I have never been fond of any of the Ubuntu artwork or themes. I am glad they moved away from the brown in 10.04, but still haven't liked any of the wallpapers since then (the theme is fine though).

The DNA wallpaper was brilliant. It came with Fedora core 6. I don't think the artwork has gone downhill. Just that it was so good that the other wallpapers might not seem as good in comparison. Have you seen the latest Fedora Wallpaper. I personally think that it has a cool perspective :).
