I have Ubuntu 10.04 with Gnome and if I try to log off a user, then I get this message displayed on the screen:

"A program is still running: gdm-simple-greeter.desktop"

still cannot find any solution.

look in

/usr/share/applications

for the file

move it somewhere else, or re name it, log out and back on. If it causes problems put it back.
