Recommend me some good note taking software for Ubuntu

I use Evernote (online) at www.evernote.com and love it. Also the server side OCR is very nice too plus file attachments. They don't have a linux client. But someone created one in Java its called Nevernote. http://nevernote.sourceforge.net/ If you want or need an offline client it does work.

I use Xournal (http://robinsrantsandraves.wordpress.com/2011/08/10/xournal-a-fun-note-taking-pdf-annotating-app/). It lets me scrawl notes on a laptop touchpad in class and annotate pdfs as well.

I use xpad, or gedit. I've heard good things about latex and pyroom but I haven't tried either.

I like Zim, too. Easy to use and surprisingly powerful. The only drawback is it's not cross-platform. I do, however, use Dropbox to share my Zim data between several Linux machines.

Using Xpad right now. I'd definitely recommend it if you need some virtual sticky notes.
