What is the preferred method of upgrading Linux versions? Is it the download/upgrade or CD/upgrade?

With the release of Oneiric imminent, I'd actually like to know how stable things are before upgrading my Kubuntu and Xubuntu boxes. They always say to give it a month to help iron out the bugs, but I'm not too sure-this is Linux!

I noticed that Kubuntu was very unstable when I first installed it on our other PC. Too much minimizing/maximising and task switching created a reboot or "Give me a decade to sort myself out" situation... Hmmm...

The preferred method if usually the one that suites you best. In case you've no idea what does, there is probably no preferred method, and you should just follow the procedure.

Thats good! Have you heard any news of how stable the new Xubuntu release is? Be very interesting to know... Won't be upgrading for atleast a month in any case, because I am on the verge of getting a refurbished Dell Latitude D620.

Thanks!

No, I haven't. The latest stable release of Xubuntu was 11.04. Check out the Review section to see what others had to say.
