Hi

I have 32 bit Natty installed with a separate /home partition. If I should decide to upgrade to 64-bit (Natty or Oneiric or whatever), can I just install normally and leave the home partition unformatted? Or do I need to format the home partition?

I guess you can. I've never done that, but I do swap application configuration files in my /home directory (e.g. kde configuration files) between 32 and 64 bits installs without issues.

To keep the same /home partition you need to select manual installation. Mark the partition you want as /home, make sure the tick box next to format is not selected.
