Using Kubuntu 11.04 KDE 4.71

If I start User Manager from System Settings it does not ask for a password and so runs with user not admin permissions and so no settings can be changed (the options are all greyed out).

Any ideas why?

I don't know why it happens, but you can try with running whole system settings with sudo
kdesudo systemsettings

Thanks for the suggestion - didn't really want to go down that path as was keen to find out why it was not working properly. (software management still works ok)
