In spite i´m a Cli / Synaptic fan for apt-get use , i´ve been playing with add/remove programs in the latest times and i´ve been noticing that is uncredibly slow to start ...
At my dapper-install , while Synaptic takes about 10 seconds to load after the password inserted , Add/Remove programs takes a whole minute and still eats a good chunck of my cpu during it!
I´m curious to know what exactly is the explanation to this! Does it load more libraries than Synaptic? Is badly written? Or does an evil Gnome cursed my dapper-install with this low performance while removing my pr0n?
