Hi all i am thinking of creating an ubuntu orientated website/forum.

I am just here to ask from the community what you think the ubuntu community needs which i could include in the website?

And would another website be of any use?

I don't see why any people should go to your forum instead of these great forums with thousands of users? (no offence meant) Unless you are making a non-English forum.

Out of curiosity, what language?

It would have to be for something very specific. I'm not sure forums would be useful but if it offered a resource that could be linked here that would seem like the most obvious course. Other than a translation of course.

+1 to pointless. there are probably other projects you could undertake that are more needed. you might contact the staff to see what they might be. i certainly don't know what they are.

I agree with this 100%. It would have to have a specific function.. what that function should be, I have no clue. We already have a great gaming site... Hmmm what else is there? :)

Anything not connected with the technical aspects of Ubuntu might be included in the site. For example backup of certain files of ubuntu community members can be provided or sharing of photos, in personal albums of community members, discussions like the 'Backyard' of Ubuntu forums, blogs etc, etc. The scope is immense.
Members can also get a platform for solidarity in social/political activism on issues from all over the world.
