Hi there, I upgraded last night and now can't connect to the net. I've looked at this forum but can't find anything specific to the last upgrade.

I use Linux because it's open source but really can't proclaim to know anything about it and the technical terms are foreign to me.

Can anyone give me any simple advice about what to do next? Can I roll back Linux to the previous version and is that the best thing to do?

I'm used to windose and Mac but really want to use Ubuntu on my machine.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help. At least I have a spare mac I can use in the meantime
Regards
Mandy

From which version to which did you upgrade?

What kind of hardware are you using?

Hi thanks for the reply :)

This is what I have:

AMD Athlon (TM) 64 processor 3000+
Memory 1002.4 MIB
Kernal Linux 2.6.32-33 Generic

Ubuntu Release 10.04 (lucid)
GNOME 2.30.2

First upgrade in a long time, don't know what the previous version was.

I've rebooted the modem/router but that didn't make any difference. Do you think it could be router drivers I need?

Thanks again.

Thinking in drivers is part of the Windows mindset. Yes, it could be the problem, but most often the solution is another.

I would recommend systematic troubleshooting like
