My motherboard ethernet input has broken so I am now trying to use an USB adapter.

The TRUlink ethernet adapter (USB 2.0 10/100/1000 Ethernet Adapter) that I am trying to use does not seem to be working in Ubuntu 11.04.

The output from "lspci | grep Ethernet" is:

02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 03)

In the Network Manager GUI I see the device and it will attempt to connect, but it eventually fails. The device has worked in Windows Vista previously on the same laptop (Toshiba Satellite).

I get the same response if I try the device in Fedora.

Any help would be appreciated.
