View Full Version : [ubuntu] Help installing new "GeForce GT 430"- everything's HUGE

September 27th, 2011, 02:43 AM
Just installed a new video card, "GeForce GT 430", and restarted... video appears to work but resolution is completely off... so far off that I can't even fit a small dialog box on the screen. I've tried running the "Additional Drivers" application, and it correctly sees my monitor (Samsung, see code below) which should take 720p. In the code below, I attempted to comment out one part of xorg.conf that was auto-generated, and place resolution in there manually (based on what I saw in other threads). Didn't matter.

Any ideas? Running Ubuntu 11.04 (GNU/Linux 2.6.38-11-generic-pae i686), an upgraded OS from a previous MythBuntu install.

Oh, I should mention-- if suggestions require code, or modifying system files, please post verbatim; I'm equiped with more bravery than expertise :)
