I had a friends wife that had a Pentium 4 laptop with problems. I installed Ubuntu Gnome with Compiz with a Windows XP look (Yes I told her) I never heard of any more problems. Now, she bought a newer laptop on ebay and is complaining she can't find anything and it's not as flashy. (I assume it's running Windows) I love it.
