Hi all, I scanned the forum but couldn't find an answer to my questions. Which I'm sure are pretty easy, however I'm just a newbee to ubuntu. Lovin it!

I've been putting off upgrading from 10.10 to 11.04. It looks like open office is no longer supported in 11.04. Will my document files be retained after the upgrade? Is OpenOffice still installed just not supported or will it need to be reinstalled. Or maybe use LibreOffice in it's place?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

You should be fine with Libre office.

Ok thanks for the quick response zvacet.

Just so I'm 100% clear. My personal files won't get wiped and is LibreOffice part of the new install? Or would I have to load that?

Make sure you backup your personal files before upgrading. There is always a risk of losing data in an upgrade, even though it shouldn't happen.

And Libreoffice is part of the default 11.04.

PS: Libreoffice base in 11.04 is not 100% compatible with Openoffice in 10.10.
