In a diff thread I had a few problems getting PlayonLinux to get going, but once I did I installed iTunes...

Unfortunately, when I start it I get the message: iTunes wasn't installed properly. If you want to burn CD reinstall it.

after I click OK, iTunes starts...

With a black Central window???
Any Ideas How I can Fix this? If not How can I delete itunes?

Thanks

PlayOnLinux has a forum. Did you try asking there?

Not sure.

Apple has a private corner store going on, and well paid lawyers, to defend it.

which brings me back to my need to get iTunes working in Ubuntu.
I've installed it in virtualbox running win, but the upgrade to IOS 5 took me over 20 hours.
crazie.

there is a similar thread a bit further down the list, and it also points to different website on this issue. the answer seems to be very firmly, No you cannot install iTunes in Ubuntu. i tried it with Wine, and it doesnt work (well not at my neophyte linux level of undertanding).

what i find interesting is that in this world where iPhones and iPods are so ubiquitous, that there doesnt seem to be a lot of linux users who give a rats rectum that you cant install iTunes! obviously, Linux users are the third form of life on earth, ie other than A Mac, and A PC. :)
