View Full Version : [ubuntu] Cannot login to Ubuntu and default GNOME theme login screen after partitioning HDD

Hi,

I am having this problem where Ubuntu doesn't allow me to login to my user account and also it seems the default (ugly) Gnome theme is instead of the Ubuntu theme login screen.

Basically, I partitioned my hard drive on a GParted live cd (installing Windows 7 on that partition). It partitioned successfully with no errors but when I rebooted into Ubuntu I couldn't login and it also said in the top corner something like "GNOME Power Manager needs configuring. Contact your computer administrator". When I do put my password in it comes up with a black screen and white text (what the shut down normally looks like) for about a second then puts me back to the login screen.

Can anyone please help as I really don't want to reinstall.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section

Thanks,
Alex

Never mind, deleted the windows 7 partition and resized the disk to full size and the problem went away. Must of been because it had hardly any disk space.
