Recently I installed GNOME 3 on my laptop (Natty) from the PPA using the instructions here (http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-Install-GNOME-3-on-Ubuntu-11-04-194085.shtml).

I didn't notice any errors during the install, but for some reason when I try to launch "System Settings" from the list of applications, it says

Failed to launch 'System Settings' Not found
If I try to launch it by clicking on my name in the top right, it doesn't even give an error. Running

gnome-control-center
results in the attached screenshot.

I've searched around, and all I could find regarding this issue is threads with no resolution from ~2010. Thoughts?

I have the same issue. I've searched through the thread you linked but alas haven't found a solution. Any other ideas? I've also tried purging gnome-shell and reinstalling.

(I almost forgot about this thread)

The solutions in that post didn't help at all, but thanks for the reply. It's not too critical of an issue for me at the moment, but it might be soon. I'm not sure if it's related, but certain installed applications aren't showing up under Applications or when I type to search. I really wish I could give more info, but I've got nothing.
