Hi, I'm a new user to Ubuntu. I'm booting from an image CD loaded with version 11.04.
Can I upgrade the CD version? If so, which upgrades do I need?
Currently when booting to to CD I can see my user Folders on C:\ drive and my external HDD.
However, it doesn't see my Canon inkjet printer. It displays printer properties for a "generic" printer.
What do I need to do to use my Canon printer?

Anything else I need to know?

Thanks,

Mike

Have you tried to print?

When you open the Unity search enter "addi" and Additional Drivers will show up in the menu. That application may offer drivers for the printer. I found a screenshot here,

What model Canon printer is it?

Yes, I tried to print from the Writer generic printer but the canon printer is displayed and the document won't print.
I opened the "additional driver Icon but the reply was
"no propreitary drivers available,.

It's a Canon inkjet MP610. I haven't been able to find the Unity icon but I found the additional drivers Icon.
