Esteemed Ubuntu Users & Devs,

I installed the app menu for Libre Office using:

sudo apt-get install lo-menubar

(per the nice guide:
http://www.webupd8.org/2011/04/things-to-tweak-fix-after-installing.html)

But now i can't access any of the menu contents using the default 'ALT + <key>' keyboard shortcuts.

Is there anything that can be done to have both the AppMenu *and* 'ALT + <key>' keyboard shortcuts? Or is this a known bug without a workable solution?

TIA for tips & suggestions,

Karl

Me Either... it's a real pity, because it really limits how fast you can do things..

Using 11.10
Linux chris-laptop 3.0.0-15-generic #26-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 20 17:23:00 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
LibreOffice 3.4.5
OOO340m1 (Build:502)

Cheers,
Chris

I ended up dropping the AppMenu (aesthetics) in favour of LibreOffice menu (functionality) to get back my ALT + <key> work flow :/

Same problem here. It’s a shame.

Ditto. I hope somebody finds a workaround for this major flaw, or that it gets fixed.

Not to complain but both precise and quantal were supposed to include working lo-menubar on release date. (may still be time in relation to quantal, though -- miracle-time!)

Otherwise might happen in time for R -- would be awesome.

As a side note I am using lo-menubar right now and loving it.

Here's the Launchpad page (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lo-menubar). People can go through the bug list and indicate whether a bug affects them as well.
