Dear all, I'm having problems in installing Java and IE8 with wine. I'm using ubuntu 11.04 no unity version. I have tried to install the downloaded exe files on the terminal window with no success. I would be glad if anybody could give me an hint on what could be the problem.
I attach here the terminal listing.
I see no Java or IE options in the wine menu lists.
I have instead successfully installed firefox with winetricks but it isn't able to work with Java.

Many thanks in advance

Maurizio

Welcome to the forums!

I think, IE8 needs IE7 to be present to install (or something like that ...) In short, I don't know if you can install IE8 under WINE.

Why would you install firefox under wine? It has native support for Linux and Java. What would be the reason to mangle in under WINE?

PS. You can use VirtualBox for full windows support...
