cd detection

I try to install Ubuntu from a CD on a Dell P4 to no avail.

The PC Bios indicates that the CD reader is installed. The CD reader is set as first boot device. But the reader doesn't detect the install CD. Instead I get a white company Bios startpage with PC specs.

Who can help?

hm, very strange ;) maybe reset your bios (power + battery off for a while, maybe switch the bios jumper if any)
