Greetings,

My USB 3.0 hard disk drive does not show as an option in the Ubuntu installer.

I googled Ubuntu Etron USB 3.0 and found discussions about the Etron USB 3.0 controller chip not working with Linux, and that it was fixed in Linux 2.6.38-11.48?

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/802541

But it still is not working for me. Is that fix version in Ubuntu 11.04?

What should I do?

Thanks

I have also run The Boot Repair CD, and the USB 3.0 drive still does not show up in the Ubuntu installer.

I don't personally have experience with this... My boards and drives are all older. But my friends using Linux with newer SSD drives with USB 3.0 have to go into the BIOS on their motherboards to turn off the 3.0 support for them back to 2,0... to work right.

I'm not sure if 11.04 supports it yet. USB 3.0 is "new". 11.10 is less than a month out and they're feverishly working out a lot of new things. Maybe(?)

11.10 sees the USB 3.0 drive! Installing now...
