Hi,
I did try to search the forum for this issue but i couldn`t find an answer...

I use Ubuntu 11.04 with Unity, and some compiz configurations..it is the first time i use Linux and i kind of like it..so i`m noob, but i` trying :)

The problem is that every time i open an application (especially gedit, thunderbird, and some others that don`t start in full screen) the program`s windows starts in the uper left corner...so i have to drag it into the screen`s center because it`s easier to use it like this, i guess.

So it`s there any way to set those programs to start in the center of the screen or anywhere but the corners?

I think that before activating some things in compiz, programs were starting centered...i guess (i can`t remember exactly).

Thank you.

You can change the "Placement Mode" in Compiz' "Place Windows" plugin. Therefore, install "CompizConfig Settings Manager" if not already done so (package "compizconfig-settings-manager"). You will find those plugin in the section "Window Management".
