I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 alongside my Windows to try it. So I can boot either windows or Ubuntu. When I installed it inside windows I was asked to set a size for the partition. I have been using Ubuntu now all the time and need to increase the partition size of it as I often get messages saying I only have 65MB of space left.

Does anyone know how I can increase the size of my installed Ubuntu partition another few gb as there is size on the laptops hdd?

Not sure what you mean by

Do you have a Wubi installation or are you dual booting?

You can resize the Wubi virtual disk following this guide:

At the same time, I recommend you also make a backup copy of the root.disk and keep it somewhere safe like an external medium.

You may also want to consider saving the files you are using in Ubuntu somewhere else as that will also save space.

The final option is to migrate the Wubi install to a dedicated partition, especially if you are using it regularly:

Thanks for the replies. What I meant was the one where you can run it inside your current version of windows and try it out, think it is called Wubi. When I boot up I have a dos looking screen where I can selet to boot in Windowns or Ubuntu.

On installing this I selected a very small partition size that would be given to the Ubuntu system and need to increase that as I have about 250gb on my laprop that is not being used.

Cool Rubi1200 thanks for that.
