I'm debating whether to migrate from 32-bit Meerkat to 64-bit Natty, and would want to install Flash 11.

However, ESPN and Yahoo Sports are important to me, so will only migrate if Flash 11 works well.

Thanks,
Ron

Flash 11 RC works fine for me on my x64, you can of course run the x32 on the x64 system in compatibility mode.

However i would suggest using Flash-Aid (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-aid/versions/) which download and install the most appropriate for your system, it is a plug in for firefox but once installed will be used across the browsers etc.

If you have x64 hardware then no reason not to use x64 software IMO

just fine. He sure made a winner with flash aid used to have a lot of threads on flash, not

Flash-Aid hasn't been updated for Firefox 6.0.2 yet, from last I checked.

I usually just uninstall the flashplugin-installer via synaptic, download Flash 11 RC1 from site, extract it, place libflashplayer.so into ~/ and cp it to /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins.

Both the the 32bit with the wrapper and the 64 bit versions of flash have worked very well on my 64 bit operating systems . One more vote for flash aid also .

download Flash 11 RC1 from site, extract it, place libflashplayer.so into ~/ and cp it to /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins.I have found that a new user has tried to install flash before he posts and remnants of
flash are everywhere and needs to remove them before he can if he knows how to
download and extract libflashplayer.so and copy to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ .
Flash aid does this for him.

place libflashplayer.so into ~/ and cp it to /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins.## believe the /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins. is a Redhat file system thing for installing libflashplayer.so
At least I do believe I remember /lib64 was in path to place flashplayer.so in Redhat and its cousins, have not used in quite a while.

What kind of sites do you use it with?

Anything and everything, havent come across anything with any issues as yet.

And as been said, switching to x64 bit OS doesnt mean you have to use x64 Flash, as you can still use the wrapper.

Flash Aid will install and use the most appropriate for your system or you can choose what one.

So if you have the hardware then upgrade to x64 and get the performance benefits, if x64 flash doesnt work for you (which it should) then just the x32 bit anyways so no different for ya

Bugs *somewhere* in the Flash+FF chain are why I downgraded to 32-bits when converting from Debian to Ubuntu.

Why dont you give me a site to go to and it would be easier to tell you if i can view it.

As for the bugs, as said already repeatedly there are lots of people here using x64 flash and it works fine, and recommending using Flash Aid.
