I recently downloaded Firefox 6.0 to my USB flashdrive(firefox-6.0.tar.bz2). I copied it to the Desktop. Archive Manager will extract it normally, but it does not seem to replace the Firefox 3.0 icon I use with Ubuntu 8.04/Hardy Heron. The only way I can find to run the new Firefox is the use its shell icon in the Firefox folder, and when I do, I get this message:

Do you want to run "Link to firefox", or display its contents?
"Link to firefox" is an executable text file.

Then it lets me run the new Firefox 6.0 normally. How do I get the Firefox icon and replace the 3.0 version?
