Hey, just installed Screenlets, which I love, and have found System Monitor, which i've been wanting to put on my desktop for quite some time.

I could do the same with Conky, as this screenlet has a conky basis, but i never figured it out or had time to edit conky config. files to how i would like it (is there a place with a bunch of pre-done formats that you could select?).

So right now it looks nice (screenshot attached) but i the problem of the screenlet being in the way whenever I pull up an app maximized. My question is: Is there a way to set a screenlet to autohide (much like docky, how it has autohide or intellihide)?

I read that for 11.04 they have fixed this issue with a new screenlets version. but im a year behind, running lynx (LTS reasons) instead. Im not sure if i understand this correctly, but if i got the ppa and used the Software Center, could i get the latest version on Lynx? Or will it only work with Unity?

Or perhaps more preferably, is there another alternative to get a system monitor up without this problem? Conky or other alternative?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, for what you're doing, Conky would be the better choice. You could force the screenlet to stay below even if it doesn't give you the option, but it would be a messier solution.

There's a thread full of .conkyrc files here at UF (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=281865), or just search Google for .conkyrc (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=.conkyrc). = )
