I have downloaded 10.04 and 11.04 iso image files but cannot get them to boot. I am working on a windows XP and have tried both discs with no luck. My other machine which was running 11.04 until it crashed, I have tried both 10.04 and 11.04 on this machine I disabled the hard drive and tried to boot but all I get is "no bootable media in cd/rom drive" help

Usually one boots to a LiveCD when everything is broke, that's the starting point.

If your LiveCD/USB isn't working, then you have to boot to Windows and try to make a working LiveCD/USB.

http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ works well to build the LiveCD/USB.

A good working LiveCD/USB has a bunch of files on it, the thumbnail shows this.

Are you sure you've selected Boot from CD as first boot device in BIOS?
