Hi,

I would like to install ubuntu on my windows desktop pc. I downloaded ubuntu to my USB stick tried to follow the installation instruction. I did download the USB installer as well. But I still don't have clear idea to install. Any step by step suggestions would be highly appreciated. I am very new to ubuntu as well. :)

I'm not sure this is what you are asking but if I'm wrong just say so. It sounds like you have a usb with the iso image on it and just want dual boot installation instruction. Is that right? If so, this site is great tutorial on doing a dual boot install, with lots of detail and pictures. http://members.iinet.net.au/~herman546/index.html

If you just copy the ISO on the usb, that won't work. You need to make the USB drive 'bootable'. There's a multi platform tool called Unetbootin that can help you to do that

Check this (http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/usb) tutorial for the details.
