I am new to ubuntu (11.04) so need some hand-holding to make it work again.

The issue:
I was playing around with compiz ccsm one day. After changing some settings my unity bar and top panel (with the clock, etc) disappeared. I tried "unity --reset" in the terminal but it got stuck so I closed it mid-process... I do not know if that's a serious mistake.

Anyway, I rebooted my computer. My log in screen comes up, I log in and it asks for my wifi password. But still there is no unity bar or top panel... I do not know what else to do... I am new to ubuntu, just started to like it a lot, and now this happened. I cannot use it anymore and it's lame to have to use windows again. How can I fix this issue..

I had some problems with unity earlier today. I tried the "unity --reset" command and it did nothing. I eventually just removed, and re-installed unity and everything is working fine now. Took a grand total of two minutes to fix it.

Thanks a lot. This guide helped me get the Unity panel back, after ccsm crashed and messed up my desktop environment.
