I am running Kubuntu 10.10 on my laptop, and a while ago I clicked the popup for the 11.04 upgrade. I looked over the list of packages that it was going to upgrade or remove, and GIMP was on the remove list with no upgrade listed. As I use GIMP daily, I did not proceed.
My question is why is this package uninstalled by the upgrade? I have seen some posts online from others who described problems installing GIMP in 11.04 so I have not yet upgraded.
There were plenty of other packages that were going to be left alone. Yet GIMP was listed to be removed, and I could not find any way to prevent the upgrade from doing this.
I posted this in the "Art & Design" forum yesterday, and then I thought it might be better here instead as this is a main discussion area while "Art & Design" is part of "Other Community Discussions".
