In issue #52 concerning the subject article...

I was following along trying to do the mail-merge thing and got to this part:
"Click on the Data Sources icon (shown left), View > Data sources, or press F4. This will display the registered databases below the"

I was not sure what was supposed to be open at this point.

Also, I was wondering if you delete the linked database does that do away with the link to the spreadsheet that you started with?

Maybe it is just me but the article while being informative, left out some instructions for someone like me that is unfamiliar with mail-merge.

Thanks,
Harold

Hum... seems I must have stringed several thoughts into one there. What I was trying to say was that there are three ways to display the registered databases.

1. By the Data Sources icon
2. In the menus: View > Data Sources
3. Keyboard shortcut: F4

Sorry for the confusion. I will work harder at making it clearer when there is more than one way to do something. Seems I took a writing shortcut and it didn't work ;)

No problem. I just figured that if I was at all familiar with mail-merging (which I am not) I would have been able to follow like you intended.

thanks,
Harold
