View Full Version : [ubuntu] Compro E700 Tuner Card

Hi all.

I have a PCIe dual digital tuner card (Compro E700) which I would like to get working under Ubuntu 11.04.

A bit of background info... I had a HTPC (Media PC) running XP which I used to Watch / Record TV for the past 5yrs now... Ive wanted to setup Ubuntu with Myth installed but never put aside the time to do so as the system was working as it was. A few days ago however one of my HDDs died. Ive decided to use this as a positive and finally setup Ubuntu 11.04. :) The downside is although I am happy with using Ubuntu it looks like its not happy with my tuner. :(

I have done some goggling and have found old threads (2009 most resent I think) saying that my tuner isn't yet supported under Linux. I'm wondering if this is still true, if anyone knows of a work around, or if the problem is being worked on and I could help in testing in sum way (Unfortunately I've limited Linux knowledge)?

Failing that can anyone advise of a descent, good value, compatible dual tuner I can look into getting?

Thanks for reading,
