I am currently using Kontact/KDE-PIM for storing my contacts, calendar, and note information. I really like it, but I would like to be able to have the data synced between my 3 PCs. Does anyone know a good way of syncing this data between all my machines, or another PIM with this capability?

I have looked into using Akonadi setup on my server as a central backend and pointing all the clients to that, but I cannot find any documentation on how to accomplish this. I also do not know if the clients would actually sync the data from the server so I can use it offline as well.

Any thoughts on this would be great.

I have found a solution that works for me. Kontact/KDE-PIM with Akonadi was just too much hassle, so I switch to Thunderbird.

I switched to using Thunderbird with the following plugins:
- Lighting --> for calendar
- Google data provider --> for syncing calendar to gmail account
- Google Contacts --> for syncing contacts to gmail account

This syncs my Thunderbird data with gmail, so all my machines will have the same information.

For syncing notes and other data I am just going to use SpiderOak (similar to Dropbox).
