drive 0 is your hard drive. if you're installing ubuntu, you need to make a boot disk or usb drive. i used unetbootin
http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
read through the instructions first and make a boot disk or usb. i like the usb. then you will need to change your boot options in your bios to boot from the disk or usb that you just made.

I might not be the right person to talk to about this, I' just getting back into to it, but, make your startup disk or usb on the laptop you're using. then move it over to the computer you want to load ubuntu onto. It's possible that your first attempt put just enough on the harddrive to stop it from registering. and most of all, "Don't Panic". LOL it took me 4 tries to get my computer loaded

by the way, were you trying to do the load from your hard drive?
