Does it make sense to install Xubuntu if I'm just going to install Nautilus, Kdenlive, and a nicer image view anyway?
I don't think that Gnome3 is compatible with my workflow, and I'm put off by KDE because it loads up a mysql server and lots of other stuff by default. Still, if I install Nautilus, Kdenlive, Shotwell Viewer, etc, I will be using KDE and Gnome libraries anyway, and my gut feeling is that Xfce is probably more buggy than KDE. I just want a responsive system (no menu/window animation!!) that doesn't eat up memory and CPU time. So, I could, alternatively, install Kubuntu and then disable a bunch of the KDE features.
