I'm sure this is not new news, but why is www.linuxtoday.com, a website supposedly about Linux and open source with many links to pro-Linux articles, almost completely inundated with Microsoft propaganda? I seem to come across this website more often than not when doing searches about Linux or open source topics.

I'm sure this is not the only website I've seen like this. On the other hand, I don't think I've ever seen a website that aggregates pro-Microsoft articles, covered with Linux propaganda. I'm glad www.linuxtoday.com doesn't appear to author any articles because I probably wouldn't believe much of anything they say anyway.

They're ads paid for by Microsoft. Most websites that have anything to do with Linux have Microsoft ads plastered all over the place.

I only hope www.linuxtoday.com charges extra

Yup, old news.

"Linux Today founder calls for a boycott of Linux Today" (http://lxer.com/module/newswire/view/14804/index.html) dated Jun 4, 2004

"Should we boycott LinuxToday.org?" (http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/coffee-lounge/17462-should-we-boycott-linuxtoday-org.html) dated 11-23-2004

"linuxtoday.com Sponsored by Microsoft" (http://digg.com/linux_unix/linuxtoday.com_Sponsored_by_Microsoft)

Use a decent hosts file (www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm) to block most ads. I stopped visiting that Linux Today site long ago when I first noticed all the M$ ads.
