Hi all,
I'm finally working at a place where they have enough money to not buy junk! yesterday I was in the server room (I'm redesigning the network) looking at the cabinet where everything is. its a huge cabinet, but its setup needs work. The UPS(s) are all on the top shelf which I know is a bad idea, because if they ever leak, the acid will drip down on the stuff below. The servers in the cabinet are regular desktops sitting on the shelves.

What I would like some input on is where to put the servers. Should they go towards the top because heat rises? I have a 24 port switch rack mounted, I think that will be relatively low heat, so Ill put that down lower in the rack.

Does anyone know of a cabinet layout practice, or standards? Is there a guide someone can point me to?
