Hi,
haven't found solution. When I select text in eg. gedit, the selected text colour is white in white background. The same is true in selection boxes, such as "Sound settings" -> "Sound Effects" -> "Choose an alert sound", selected item is the one not visible, since white font. Where's the setting to change the colour? Gtk and gnome themes I've tried have all the same problem.

Hi,
i have the same problem here. the weired thing is, that i can't find the colour of the selection boxes in the gtk.css file. Aparently ther is no tool yet to change the colours, but perhaps somebody could provide the right file to edit. thx a lot

This is what my gedit screen looks like after I select some text. I think you've done "something" that's causing a problem.

Tweaking colors in 11.10 is certainly not as simple as it was in 11.04 :(

I don.t know what the problem may be , but you could try Gedit > Edit > Preferences > Fonts & Colors and see if the problem occurs with the other color scheme options .
