View Full Version : [ubuntu] Toshiba L775 17.3inch screen resolution issue

August 30th, 2011, 07:20 AM
I recently installed 10.04LTS 32 bit on Toshiba L775-S7243 (17.3"screen) laptop. The issue i'm getting really annoyed with is the screen resolution, it is staying fixed to default 1024x768(4:3)and under system>preferences>monitors the laptop monitor(LSVD1) is not getting detected.

I changed xorg.conf under /etc/X11 including higher resolution ... DID NOT HELP

I updated kernel ... DID NOT HELP

I installed the Intel HD graphics driver... DID NOT HELP

For past 3 days i have been trying all options people have suggested online but failed to fix the issue.

Can anyone in the forums please let me know if there is any way to resolve this issue...the graphics card i have is Intel(R) HD Graphics, Powered by 2.1GHz Intel Core i3-2310M processor with 3MB L3 cache

If not i shall resort to remove Ubuntu and only run on Windown 7 :(

I'm having a similar problem. I have a Toshiba Satellite with a Trident Microsystems CyberBlade XPAi1 videocard and I can only get a screen resolution of 800x600. My version of Ubuntu no longer has the xorg file. I'm looking for a solution too! -R
