My KDE desktop (probably kdm) is crashing frequently and I can't figure out why. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to what causes it. Sometimes opening an application will trigger a crash, sometimes saving a document, etc. When this occurs, I am brought out to the login screen.
I am running KDE on three LCD screens. I have two nvidia GPUs in SLI, but I don't think the Linux nvidia driver supports that anyway. Xinerama is enabled and composite is disabled. Does anyone know how I can fix this or at least debug it? I never had these problems with two screens and a single GPU using TwinView.
On a related note, what is the preferred way to run KDE with three screens? My current setup is very sluggish and laggy. I don't get much GPU acceleration or effects because Kwin has to be disabled (xinerama is incompatible with composite). Is there a better desktop environment for this setup? I am disappointed that KDE and X.org in general seem to fail with multi-screen desktops.
