As a now long committed user of Arch Linux, I was quite interested to read this post on the Arch Linux Forums: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=125423
As many of you possibly know, Arch is a more or less vanilla distro, and this guy is now going to great lengths to get it working, including doing some bug fixes in order to get it to compile.
So, we can get it working outside of Ubuntu, but expect more input from other distro communities on Unity, as people are working on progressing development on it outside of the Ubuntu development community.
