Hello.

Gedit is 1 editor i use - & I know how to use the MATCHING BRACKET

it highlights the matching bracket, if my curser is on one. However, this is only useful if both brackets are visable on my screen...

Is there a function within Gedit so I "go to" the other bracket - Wherever that is ?

There is no such feature. Is such a feature is of importance to you, it might be a good idea to consider more advanced text editors.

This would also be relatively easy to do with a Gedit plugin, if you're savy with PyGTK.

Hello,

You can try to use this plugin: http://www.holbi.co.uk/news/a-must-have-new-plug-in-for-gedit/

but it works for { } only
and for very simple text (without comments....)

Best regards,
Eugene

Slightly off topic, but vim uses the % key (percent) to close parens, square, and curly brackets.
