Which DVD ripper in the Ubuntu Software Centre will let me select a segment of a video file on a DVD for ripping? I want to be able to specify the beginning and end points of the segment on a time line. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 on a desktop with 2GB of RAM, a dual core processor and plenty of HD space.

As far as I can tell AcidRIP and Thoggen do not include the facility to specify the segment of the track to be ripped.
Many thanks for your help.

I'm assuming you just want a small section of a particular title on the DVD.
You can open whole title with avidemux then select the exact start and end frame you want. You can either copy or transcode using any number of codecs and containers.
