Was trying to enable 3D windows in Compiz and it said something about something that Unity used, but I disabled it anyway. What happend was Unity stopped responding, after a restart it didn't show up at all. So now all I can access is the icons on my desktop, no alt+f2, no terminal, no nothing. I can however access root priviliges through safe mode(or something). Is there anyway I can activate it from there?

Try to login with the Classic (No effects) option and then run 'unity --reset'.

Cannot register the panel shell: there is already one running.

That's the message I get when running the command unity --reset.

Nevermind, after a restart unity is back to normal. Thanks alot for the help! Will keep my hands off that effect in the future.
